Adjacent landowners are given a 30-day comment period in which they may provide written comments on the proposed permit actions below 33 days from the day the postcard is postmarked.

Tyson Farms Incorporated has applied for the reissuance of an existing permit that would authorize the use of industrial residuals as fertilizer on 3,681.8 acres of agricultural land in Accomack and Northampton counties.

Public Comment Period: Sept. 20 - Oct. 20, 2025

Public notice of this proposed permit action is being published in the Eastern Shore Post on Sept. 19, 2025. This notice will establish a 30-day public comment period in which the public is invited to submit written comments and/or request a public hearing on the proposed permit reissuance to the DEQ - Central Office or to the DEQ Contact below by Oct. 20, 2025.

DEQ accepts comments by hand-delivery, e-mail, or postal mail. All comments must be in writing and be received by DEQ during the specified comment period. Submittals must include the permit number, and the name and postal address or email address of the commenter.
