Claims Reimbursement Notice
DEQ is currently undergoing a significant financial system overhaul aimed at streamlining how Finance conducts business. We are preparing to go live with the new OARS system on October 1, 2025. We have processed all pending claims today, September 10, 2025 to ensure payment. We will not be able to process payments from September 15th through October 1st. November 2024 Activity Authorization Form & Cost Worksheet
On December 19, the Internal Revenue Service issued the standard mileage rate for 2025 of 70 cents per mile for business transportation. The following 2022 UCR Schedule forms have been updated to allow claimants to claim the I2025 mileage rate.
The Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund is a reimbursement program that assists with the cost to clean up the environment when a release happens from an eligible tank. The fund covers most costs, but not all. In addition, the fund provides a mechanism for regulated Underground Storage Tank (UST) owners and operators to meet the financial responsibility part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s requirements.
File reimbursement claims following the completion of a cleanup phase. The application package includes application forms, documentation of costs incurred (invoices) and the cost worksheet. Submit the complete application package either via Email to Claim.Decision@DEQ.Virginia.gov or via U.S. mail to:
