Opportunities to participate in public meetings and to provide public comment are listed below. DEQ is required to notify landowners residing adjacent to any proposed new land application sites about proposed permit actions. Adjacent landowners are given a 30-day comment period in which they may provide written comments on the proposed permit actions below 33 days from the day the postcard is postmarked.

Synagro Central, LLC has applied for the reissuance of an existing permit to include 2,564.9 acres of agricultural and silvicultural land at eight sites, of which 200.7 acres is new land application area. After the close of the comment period, DEQ determined that that the regulatory criteria to hold a public hearing was met. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain input from the public related to the draft permit for this project for DEQ to consider. An informational briefing will be held before the public hearing at the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in Orange on October 23, 2025 at 6:00 pm.

DEQ accepts comments by hand-delivery, e-mail, or postal mail. All comments must be in writing and be received by DEQ during the specified comment period. Submittals must include the permit number, and the name and postal address or email address of the commenter.
