Description: Vakos Companies (applicant) has applied for an individual permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344) for impacts associated with the proposed Village Area B project located on the northwest side of Lake Anna Parkway, approximately 0.5 miles west of the intersection of Lake Anna Parkway and Brock Road; at Latitude 38.207086 and Longitude -77.602450; in Spotsylvania Courthouse, Spotsylvania County, Virginia. The proposed project involves the construction of a mixed-use development within the Spotsylvania Courthouse Village area which will include single-family homes, multi-family units and commercial space. The northern portion of the development will consist of 181 single-family residential lots. The southernmost parcels north of Lake Anna Parkway will consist of retail and office buildings with associated parking lots throughout. The parcels south of Lake Anna Parkway will consist entirely of single-family attached and multi-family residential housing. The proposed Project also involves installation of appurtenant utilities and amenities including sanitary sewer, sidewalk, and lighting. The applicant certifies that the project is consistent with the enforceable policies of the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program. The proposed project is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the program.
