Public Notice - ​Establishment of a Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for Manassas Regional Airport​

Title (Project Name): Establishment of a Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) for Manassas Regional Airport 

Description: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes to construct a Distancing Measuring Equipment (DME) at Manassas Regional Airport. The future DME facility will be placed adjacent to an existing Runway 16L-34R Glide Slope shelter located within the Air Operations Area (AOA). The project area consists of surface gravel, one fiberglass shelter, one electrical transformer, a weather station, and two monopoles located at the western end of the gravel surface. The new DME facility will include a new 10-foot by 16-foot shelter 25 feet west of the existing shelter, a DME antenna 10 feet west of the new shelter and trenching in between the shelter and antenna. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program.
