Notice Purpose: To seek public comment on a draft permit from the Department of Environmental Quality that will allow the release of treated wastewater and stormwater into a waterbody in Fluvanna County, Virginia.

Project Description: Virginia Electric and Power Company has applied for a modification of a permit for the Dominion Energy Virginia – Bremo Power Station. The modification of the process would allow the addition of a 0.50 MGD internal outfall directly to the headworks of the Centralized Source Waters Treatment System (CSWTS). The applicant proposes to release treated industrial wastewaters and stormwater at a rate of 10.22 million gallons per day into the James River in Fluvanna County in the JM58 James River – Bear Garden Creek Watershed. A watershed is the land area drained by a river and its incoming streams. The permit will limit the following pollutants to amounts that protect water quality: physical and chemical properties, and metals
