This session will explore the role of Natural and Nature-Based Solutions (NNBS) in advancing climate resilience and sustainable land management. Attendees will gain insight into NNBS options, how the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is integrating these solutions into its resilience planning, and a decision-making framework informed by lessons from VDOT’s pilot projects. Additionally, the session will highlight efforts by the Atlantic Conservation Coalition (a CPRG project implementation grant) to promote coastal resilience and sustainable forestry through 21 implementation-ready projects. These initiatives aim to restore habitats, enhance carbon sequestration, and support disadvantaged, Tribal, and rural communities across coastal regions.
