The DEQ Northern Regional Office is hosting a public information meeting regarding environmental permits for the Dominion Energy Possum Point Power Station at 19000 Possum Point Rd. Dominion Energy has submitted an application for a Solid Waste Permit (SWP) to construct an on-site landfill for coal ash disposal, in order to close the existing coal ash pond at the facility. The reissuance of a permit regulating water discharges (Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System, or VPDES) is also under development.

DEQ has scheduled this public information meeting to provide more details about the site and the permit applications, including the public input opportunities throughout the processes. Please note that this is a public meeting to share information, and the meeting is not an official comment period for the permits under development. The required public comment periods will occur later in the process when DEQ has developed draft permit decisions.
