RESCHEDULED: CCAP Northern Regional Office Community Listening Session

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hosting public outreach meetings across the Commonwealth to solicit community feedback on strategies and actions for DEQ’s development of a statewide Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). This plan is the second phase of the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) planning process and will focus on identifying Virginia-specific opportunities and challenges, as well as evaluating potential paths to reduce climate pollution.

The Northern public meeting will be held at 6pm on February 26, 2025, at the DEQ Northern Regional Office, 13901 Crown Court, Woodbridge, Virginia 22193.

Meeting materials will be provided prior to the meeting date via the CPRG Bulletin (sign up here), DEQ's website (https://www.deq.virginia.gov/CPRG), and Virginia Regulatory Town Hall. Materials will also be distributed in-person.

There will be a virtual listening option via Webex for those unable to attend in-person. Please note that DEQ is currently unable to accommodate a virtual speaking option for attendees, so anyone interested in speaking is encouraged to attend in-person. Virtual attendees may register in advance at https://covaconf.webex.com/weblink/register/r406dfd2e999d6c7eda02a3898c4f7115. The listening session will begin with a presentation by DEQ staff that covers an overview of the CPRG program, a summary of CCAP content and requirements, and an overview of the CCAP engagement process and timeline. There will be designated portions of the presentation for attendees to ask questions, with virtual attendees able to submit written questions via the Webex chat feature. Following the presentation and Q&A, DEQ will guide in-person attendees through an interactive community discussion and brainstorming activity. During this time, virtual attendees may listen in, but will be unable to verbally participate in the brainstorming activity. Virtual attendees will be directed to a post-meeting feedback form where they may submit any remaining comments or ideas for the DEQ CPRG team to review afterward.
